That’s a good looking gang!
I think the cute little boy in Tip’s arms is Patrick Melby, and the sweet boy at Ruth’s feet is Bill Melby.

Thanks, Kila – I think you’re right.
Here are some maps that show you where the “Willett Place” was located.

Scratch the Little Bill guess, but I’m sticking with my Uncle Pat Melby is in Tip’s arms, and now I see that my Aunt Karen Melby is the first cute girl in the front row.

Kila!! Thank you for your comment! I just finished a wonderful conversation with your cousin, Diane. I’m looking forward to having a conversation with you – if you’re willing.
Cheers – and thanks again.

I think Karen Melby LaVelle, my mom, is the first little girl with the gingham jumper from the left (I have picture of her in the same outfit =)
Ruth Kelley Melby is the third adult from the left (my grandma)
Tip Melby is next to Ruth (my grandpa)

Thanks, Diane!

third from the right back row Marion Cranston Painter, Preston Elmer Painter, Helen Cranston Jett is standing next to Marion (Marion’s left). The children in front of them Robert Lewis Painter (Bob light-colored pants) Catherine Elizabeth Painter Dodd to Bobs right. The little girl next to Cathy might be Karen Melby Lavelle. They were very close cousins.

I think you’re right. My sister, Susanne, might be one of the two girls to Bob’s left. I think the boy in the sailor suit is Bill Melby. Karen is third from the left – long hair. Uncle Tip is holding Pat (I think). Hope others can identify some of these characters.
